Hubris makes herself known
I’ve been so pleased about getting through winter without my usual cold. When all around me were sniffling and coughing, there was I, breathing easily and looking smug.
Alas! On Thursday, four days before the official end of winter, I felt a slight irritation of the throat, and deteriorated to the runny nose, the chesty cough and the whole shebang over the weekend.
And now? Throat better, nose better, cough (almost) better, so I'll be starting spring illness-free... except I’ve lost my voice. All I can manage is a husky whisper.
