Light of the Moon
Jun. 17th, 2013 03:50 pmMy boss and I were driving somewhere the other day when this was read out on the radio. So that was a conversation starter. Namely, a conversation about pretending to be a walrus in lieu of paying rent. My boss wouldn't do it, but if I didn't have a job, thus giving me plenty of free time and a need for cheap accommodation, I might consider it. I don't think I'd be terribly successful with the walrus voice, though. I think I speak more in a dolphin register.
One of my colleagues ran in an ultra marathon on Sunday. She won the women's division and came fourth overall, which would be impressive at the best of times, but it's even more impressive given that she made a wrong turn and ran an extra kilometre or so in the wrong direction. I think that's the point where I'd give up, but then, I wouldn't have started in the first place.
