I lived to tell the tale
I have shaken hands with the undead! His hand is soft and squishy. Also, he is very short. I am only 160cm (what's that, about 5'2"?), a bit taller with shoes on, obv., and we were more or less at eye level. So there you go.
Last night I watched videos of wisdom tooth extractions on YouTube so I know what to expect tomorrow. I probably shouldn't have done that. It was all right until I realised I would hear the crunch as the tooth came out. If only ears could be anaesthetised as well as gums.
In other news, that baby elephant from a few weeks ago survived, and now he has a name. Awww.
