Wednesday's random reviews:
09:45 – Doing homework – ★ ★ ★ ★
I'm not just frittering away my time off. Well, I am a bit. But not all of it. I thought I should do something practical while I am a lady of leisure, so over summer I'll be doing a course on Wordpress development. This is the first week, kicking off with a quick review of HTML and CSS, and the timer this morning found me doing my homework. I like doing homework. I mean, I like doing work too. I'm not really very good at leisure, it turns out, but I'll struggle on.
14:15 – Driving to Nullawarre – ★ ★ ★ ★
I went out to lunch! And the random timer missed it, so I won't get a chance to review my meal. (All right. I had something called a Tasting Board, which was exactly what it sounds like: a board with morsels of different dishes on it. I liked the goat's cheese balls, grilled sourdough and vegetable frittata; I was less keen on the seasonal green salad, which was a bit oily and had too much tough kale in it.) I wish I'd taken my camera with me. Not to show you the food, but the view. On one side of the restaurant: the harbour, with boats bobbing about on aqua water. On the other: the island cliffs shining pink with pigface. (Honestly, neither the name nor that photo conveys how pretty it is en masse.)
Anyway, after lunch, my mother wanted to go to the quilt shop at Nullawarre (it rhymes with "mull a quarry"), and we were on the way there for this timer. Driving through gently undulating paddocks, all shades of green. Swans (black) with their cygnets in the swamps. There was a foal in the paddock next to the quilt shop. A FOAL. A dapple foal. So that was nice.
17:20 – Making Nutella fudge – ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
I mean. That's only ever going to be a five-star experience, isn't it?
