Crafty stuff

Such wintry weather as we have had of late is the perfect accompaniment to knitting. My Ravenclaw scarf is coming along slowly. It may well be the most boring thing I’ve ever knitted. I don’t normally knit scarves anyway - so bland - and this one is long and wide and taking forever. Such beautiful wool, though, and when it’s done I’ll be prepared for any emergency trips to the South Pole that may arise.
To take my mind off the Scarf Blues, I stopped and knitted a very cute and simple cabled beanie for myself (also for that emergency Antarctic trip). This had the added bonus of using up some of my wool stash – I didn’t have any 12-ply, so I used one and a half balls of charcoal 8-ply and the same amount of cream 4-ply, knitted together to get a lovely two-tone effect. I finished it last night and am now basking in Finished Project Smugness. Yay me.
