Jellyfish and sin

todayiamadaisyWhen you read an article on the the ABC's news page, a sidebar provides links to "other articles of interest". So today's item about the new seven deadly sins* had a link to a 2003 article about irukandji jellyfish entitled "Research provides clues to deadly stinger". Fine use of keywords there, ABC website!
You know, I read a few Chalet School books back in the day; not all of them, but enough to give a snort of recognition when I came across someone suggesting that one of the characters shouldn't have married the doctor she did (all good Chalet girls marry doctors), largely because the unfortunate doctor's name was Reg Entwhistle... and Reg Entwhistle is not a name that immediately conjures romance.
I've been thinking about poor Reg lately, because For Better or For Worse's great "romance" between Liz and Anthony appears to be coming to its horrifying but oddly compelling culmination. I find Anthony and this whole story line about as attractive as that Chalet fan found Reg Entwhistle, and yet I can't look away. I'll be so glad when it's all over.
* All day, I've been hearing about the "new seven deadly sins", but they really should say the "updated fourteen deadly sins", shouldn't they? I don't think the Vatican is suggesting that we can forget about the old ones.
