Sweet and interesting

It's a bit windy today. I opened the kitchen blinds this morning just in time to see a plastic chair go sailing across the garden. Beautiful timing.
Since I had to leave the house to do the groceries, I went the long way, past all the beaches, to see what the sea looked like in all this wind. Rough, would be the answer. I wasn't the only one wondering this; the lookout carparks were full of people looking out and going 'ooh!' And a good time was had by all.
As I was turning at the end of Beach Road, a huge wave gusted over the groyne and over the car. I could feel it moving the car and I couldn't see anything because of all the sea foam on the windscreen. So that was fun, but I was glad to get to the end of the road and onto higher ground.
Back on dry land, I read a book, a cosy mystery story in which a woman got ready for dinner in a large country house by putting cologne on her eyelids. Really? Is this a thing that people do? I'd be worried about getting it in my eyes.
I also read, with some amusement, about a trademark battle brewing between biscuit manufacturer Arnott's and doughnut maker Krispy Kreme. I'm not sure if you're at all familiar with the Arnott's iconic Australian biscuit, the Iced VoVo (there isn't such a beast as the plain VoVo, in case you're wondering). If you're not, it looks like this:

Sweet and interesting, the packet says. Just like me, then. Ha.
Anyway, Krispy Kreme has created a jam-filled doughnut topped with pink icing and white sprinkles and dubbed it the Iced Dough-Vo. I... I think they're going to lose this battle.
