Oct. 17th, 2007 04:44 pmThere was a link in the newspaper the other day to a lovely piece of open source software called Stellarium. A night sky on your desktop! I spent way too much time playing with it once the electricity came back on yesterday. The fast forward function got a little out of hand and I ended up looking at the sky above my house in the year 4037.
While I'm talking about software, I have recently earnt brownie points at work by getting Power Point Minimizer for my boss. I think he's minimised every power point presentation on his computer just so he can marvel at how small they get. "That one's compressed by 96.4 per cent!" He's so pleased with this new technology, I may be able to get further with my quest to put our policy manual on a wiki. Baby steps.
