Summer holidays
Jan. 3rd, 2008 06:50 pmWoman in the fruit section of the supermarket: There's no bananas.
Man with her: Bloody tourists.
Ah, those summer tourists. Coming here for our fresh sea air and eating our bananas. How dare they!
This seems like a good time to mention one of the peculiarities of life in the City by the Sea, which is that many people who live here spend the summer in a local caravan park. That is, they leave their houses, drive ten minutes to the beachside caravan park and live there for the summer. I don't understand this at all.
