Jan. 6th, 2010 02:54 pmAccording to the enormous sign painted on the floor-to-ceiling window, there is currently a SUPER SANDAL SALE at the South South Western Shoe Warehouse. Probably one to stay away from if you have a lisp.
Also, a shop that has a CLOSED sign on an open door is sending mixed messages, isn't it?
The Salvation Army has a new message on its window: If you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything. That's probably the most sensible one they've ever had.
It was just the right sort of day today: sunny but not hot, with a just a hint of cloud and a slight sea breeze. On my lunch time walk around the block, the tourists were out in force and I got caught behind a family of them: three generations, eleven people, dawdling along, eating ice creams and taking up the full width of the footpath. Nice to be them, but some of us only have an hour. Grrr.
