Raid on a nearby planet
May. 16th, 2011 11:47 pmDo you remember I saw something about planking on the news last week? Well, according to today's news, someone has died from planking. Well, not so much from pretending to be a plank, more from pretending to be a plank on a high balcony railing. Which is sad for all concerned. A spokesman for the Brisbane Planking Association had this to say: 'The Brisbane Planking Association is all about planking smart and planking safe. It's not about being a hero or a daredevil. Think before you plank, and don't drink and plank.' Sage advice, I'm sure. There are only so many times you can read the word 'plank' before it become meaningless.
I am on my second-last printer cartridge. This is momentous. I have had this printer, a little Canon Bubblejet, since 1993 or 1994, I can't remember which. A long time, at any rate. I still remember the man in the shop saying to me, 'Look at it go, that's putting some ink on the page.' Which is all you can ask a printer to do, really. Anyway, the printer itself is fine, but the cartridges are hard to get. Shops don't stock them, so they have to order them in specially. I'd be happy to keep doing that, but my scanner died last year, so I am thinking of getting an all-in-one machine when my current cartridge stock runs out. Any recommendations? Look at me, joining the twenty-first century.
I've just painted and glazed my clay dragon, and it's back in the oven to dry. Here's the brave little fellow yesterday, getting ready for his first baking:
( Not even half-baked )
