Zoltar strikes out
Jun. 10th, 2011 10:20 pmMy oven still isn't fixed. The part had to be shipped from the US and it was sent to Bendigo instead of Warrnambool, which is odd because these places aren't near each other and don't sound alike. Anyway, it's meant to arrive next week. It's odd: it's not like I used the oven every day when it was working, but now it isn't, it's the only cooking method I can think of. Perhaps I'll make a quiche. Oh, no, that's right, I'll bake a potato instead. No, wait. Oh, well. I suppose it doesn't hurt that I haven't been able to make cakes for a month or so.
The universe continues its generosity towards me this week. Today it gave me a digital kitchen scale. Well, sort of. I have a supermarket rewards card, but, because I don't have a big grocery bill and I often forget to present my card anyway, I don't generate a lot of points. I got the statement last month and realised I finally had enough to swap points for the digital scale, and then promptly forgot all about it. So that was a nice surprise. I weighed 250g of butter and found it it weighs 258g. The 8g difference must be the paper, I suppose.
