Water Green
Nov. 30th, 2011 01:58 pmI have got my work inbox down to just two emails, which are to do with things that I'm currently working on, so I'll be able to file them soon too. I feel so righteous.
I also feel like the most awful person alive. So far this week, I have received (at home now, not work) seven letters. They were from: Melbourne Zoo, Care, Ethiopian Fistula Aid, the Royal Flying Doctors, Oxfam and two others that didn't have any logo but were obviously also from charities. Three of them had things attached, visible through a little window: the Flying Doctors sent a keyring and the two I didn't recognise each sent five-cent pieces (the letter, not that I read it, would say, 'Here is five cents, we hope you'll give it back to us, plus more,' or some such. It doesn't make any sense to me at all). I kept the Care and Oxfam ones, which were the annual 'give a goat' catalogues that I've used before. The others, which I've never donated to, I didn't even open. I just wrote 'RETURN TO SENDER' across the top and posted them all straight back.
I don't know. They're doing good works and I wish them all the best, but sending me unsolicited guilt trips isn't the way to get me to donate.
