The Hell-Cat and the King
Feb. 10th, 2013 10:02 pmPeople who leave the lids off felt-tip pens, grah.
I am currently living through the Cucumber Summer. So many cucumbers, f-list. So many. I could send one to each of you and still have plenty to spare. Back in the spring, I planted four cucumber seeds. No point planting just one, in case it doesn't germinate. But all four germinated, and grew and grew and grew, and with a yield of up to thirty-five cucumbers per plants, that's quite a lot of cucumbers. So everyone who comes into contact with me is getting a cucumber or two for their trouble. I've swapped some with a couple of colleagues who have similar problems with nectarines and tromboncino zucchini. This weekend I've pickled some, so people will be getting those next. And there is still more to come. I am drowning in cucumbers.
