A Fugitive from Love

Today I picked up the free magazine from another supermarket. Nothing about toothpaste in this one, but it did alert me to the dangers of whisker stress. Look out for that, cat owners. It's what happens when you feed your cat in a bowl that's too deep. I must have been using appropriately shallow bowls my whole life, because I've never heard of it before. Or perhaps someone just made it up to sell more cat food bowls. One of them.

Back in July last year I planted some oca (a type of yam). I knew they were going to take a long time, but I scratched around in the dirt today and they were exactly the same as they were in December, last time I scratched around. So I had a little think and I pulled them out. I hate wasting eight months of growing time, but they weren't doing anything except take up half the garden. Now I've read some more, I think the summer was too hot and too dry, so they didn't set properly. Hmph. I've been looking forward to them.
