They Sought Love

It's been DIY Daisy this week. I went into the bathroom at work the other day to find New Lady changing the bolt on one of the doors. It's one of those ones with a little sign that changes from VACANT to ENGAGED. The bolt has been broken for some time apparently (I hadn't noticed), so she decided to put in a new one. Very enterprising. She'd got as far as getting the old bolt out, but couldn't get the new one in. So I helped. It took us an hour and a half, and involved me getting my tool roll from my car and the pair of us fashioning an impromptu vice out of two filing cabinets. Everyone else had gone home by the time we'd finished, but we changed that bolt. By god we changed that bolt.

Today I fixed my bedroom curtain (a couple of the runners had broken) and the clothes line (one of the lines had snapped) and put together a flat-pack shoe rack for my mother. And I made a gingerbread cake.
