todayiamadaisyI got a letter today from Simon Draper. He's the managing director of my electricity company. He likes to keep in touch.
This is part of his letter (his random formatting including):
We're making some improvements to the way we talk to you and the way we listen, and one of those changes is a new name - Lumo Energy.
We know what you're thinking. What's a Lumo?
Well, that wasn't what I was thinking. What I was thinking was: how does a name change help you talk and listen better? But Not-So-Psychic Simon goes ahead to answer the question that came to him in a vision, telling me what a Lumo is:
Well, it's a term relating to sub-atomic particles and physics and stuff. And we think it sounds pretty good.
Yeah, sub-atomic particles and stuff. You know. Oh, Simon, your depth of knowledge is amazing.
He closes by telling me: We look forward to helping you shine.
I'm not actually a beam of light, Simon, but thanks anyway.
Just think, you'll never have to read the word MasterChef in this journal again, f-list. Not until next year, anyway. The final was last night, watched by a quarter of the population (of course, that means three-quarters of the population found something better to do). What I find interesting is the way the figures are reported. As per the ABC:
An average national audience of 3.962 million watched the last half-hour of the Network Ten show, with a peak audience of 4.35 million.
Right? Only then they add this:
Factoring in regional viewing, Ten is claiming a peak audience of more than 5.7 million.
So... regional people like me don't count as national? I feel slighted.
