I never really wanted to go a tax seminar in Melbourne today, and especially not after last night, and especially, especially not when the alarm went off at ten to five this morning. But go I did, and it was probably for the best. I had to concentrate all day, whereas if I'd been at work I might (well, let's be honest, would) have sat at my desk and brooded. As it was I only had time to be morose when I went for a walk at lunch and then again when I was waiting for my flight home this evening. At lunch I just sat somewhere out of the way until I was composed again and in the evening I went for a wander around Essendon airport.*

Flying home, we ran into a storm. Nothing like going over the ocean and through pitch black sky, thick grey clouds, lashing rain and lightning in nine-seater plane to take your mind off your troubles.**

I was glad to get home and finally be alone. Not completely alone, though: I made sure to make a big fuss over Miss Pink, who stomped off in a huff when she saw Lysis come home yesterday. I don't think she's missing her at all.

* I was forty-five minutes early for my flight and investigations showed I was apparently the only person in the entire building. It was a bit spooky.

** Something I learnt this evening: planes don't have windscreen wipers. I don't know why I thought they did, but they don't.
