I have been having trouble with a piece of music that I am learning, and it occurred to me that there are probably people who film themselves playing the piano and put it on YouTube, so I could listen to their version and realise what I am doing wrong. And so it came to pass, since these people exist, which is helpful. There are also people who film their small children playing the piano and put that on YouTube, which... well, watching a seven-year-old Mozart whip through something I can barely play is dispiriting, to say the least.
The people across the road from me have got visitors this weekend, who have parked in front of my house. They have left their dog in the car. The windows are open and I've seen them come out to check on him and bring food, but that's not good, is it? It's been twenty-four hours now. And now, as I type, there is a thunderstorm, so (a) it must be terrified and (b) their car will be getting wet because of the open windows. I'm quite pleased about (b), I must say. It's no more than they deserve. I don't see why you'd bring your dog for a weekend away if you're just going to leave it in the car. (ETA: They drove away not long after I posted this.)
There is a theme to my photos this week. There wasn't meant to be, but whatever I was doing on Monday didn't work out, so I snapped a photo of the magnolia tree above me and made the theme 'things are looking up'. Now that I've put them all together, though, I see it could just as easily be 'blue and grey'.

Day 345. Magnolia; or, a photo like this generally means the one I was trying to take didn't work, Day 346. Verandah, Day 347. Pergola roof, Day 348. Bedroom ceiling, Day 349. Entrance, Day 349a. Exit, Day 350. Bean stalk, Day 350a. Magnolia and butterflies, Day 351. Light
Only two more weeks to go. What will I do with myself next year?
