Thursday's random reviews:
10:05 – Playing games – ★ ★ ★
What I was supposed to be doing on Thursday at 10:05 was accompanying my mother to buy jam. One of her friends is making jam and marmalades for charity, so we were going to make a special trip to get some. Only she rang earlier in the morning to say that she had finally got in to see a specialist about some health problem or other, so she had to go to Melbourne today and the jam trip was postponed until next week. So what I was actually doing at 10:05 was playing my current stupid computer game, 12 Labours of Hercules VI. I enjoy that at the time, but after fifteen minutes or so it makes my eyes hurt, so let's give it a middle-of-the-road three stars.
14:05 – Messing about in the vegetable garden – ★ ★ ★
Yet again the timer missed a chance to actually review something, because I went out to lunch again on Thursday. What a mad social whirl. This time I had a pad satay with seasonal vegetables at one of the City by the Sea's surprising number of Thai restaurants (four). But by two I was home again and doing some more garden tasks. Today: digging over the vegetable beds, covering them with sugar can mulch, and planting out the tomatoes and zucchini. A bit dull.
16:00 – Reading in the garden – ★ ★ ★ ★
I took my book and my fold-out chair, and sat under a tree with Alistair. So that was nice.
Friday's random reviews:
11:10 – Wandering around Bunnings – ★ ★ ★
I had to buy a new connector for the hose. I don't mind a trip round Bunnings, and this took me to an aisle I don't normally frequent, but I can't honestly say it was the most exciting thing to do.
15:40 – Cutting up little bits of fabric – ★ ★
My mother was looking for a some quilting template or other, and ended up tossing out some fabric scraps she had been hoarding. I volunteered to cut them into even smaller scraps to put into the compost bin, which was all right until my hand started to ache. Still, the compost is now very pretty.
19:25 – Washing up – ★ ★ ★
Nor is this the most exciting thing to do, but I was washing up after I had made a particularly good dinner (roast vegetable risotto), so let's include the meal and average the experience out to three stars.
