A Train to Love

Today my mother and I went to look at tiles for the bathroom floor. In a surprising development, she came to a decision quickly and easily. We are going to have this tile throughout the wet rooms (bathroom/toilet/laundry). That's today's plan, anyway.
Tomorrow being Australia Day means that tonight was the announcement of Australian of the Year. Was it me? No. Yet again, they've given it to someone who has done something with his life. In this case, a biomolecular scientist who researches spinal cord injuries. I mean, sure, if they want to give it to worthy people. (The Local Hero award mentioned in that article went to woman from the City by the Sea. Thanks to her we have a huge new cancer treatment centre.)
There is a pet meme going around my f-list, in which people are posting pictures of their pets. So here's my contribution: Mister Alistair Cat.
Here he shows his mark of Mohammed. (Is that what other people call the tabby M, or is that just what my grandmother called it?)

This is blurry, but I like his insouciant licking face.

He moved his head, but this is good view of his eyeliner.

On the back of the sofa, one of his favourite nap spots. If he were a person, I think this is a photo he would make me delete because of the unflattering angle. He really isn't fat.

Doing his best tiny tiger impression as I tease him through his mesh fence.

Foot.

Enjoying the sun on the living room rug.

Being held by his second-favourite person, my mother. (His list is: me, my mother, no-one else. And honestly, she had to work to get on it. It's an exclusive list.)
