Catching up

I got a postcard today, slightly bent, wrapped in a protective plastic bag bearing the Australia Post insignia. Inside was an official little note apologising that the enclosed item had been damaged/delayed and gave a list of potential reasons why, with an X next to "damaged due to offensive material deposited into the posting box beyond our control, eg: drinks, food, chewing gum, fire". This was signed "Yours truly, the Rewrap Officer". Who knew that was a job?
Last night's alleged second episode of Rome was indeed a mix of episodes 2 and 3. Not that it matters anymore, because it's not on next week, nor at any time in the foreseeable future; it's been taken off air. I can't even begin to imagine what Channel 9 thinks it's doing.
John has received the application forms for this mysterious hearing test number. He was slightly annoyed to discover that the forms require a number of attachments (a doctor's letter certifying that he's over sixty and a couple of other things) that will require a bit more running about. On the other hand, the forms confirmed that the test will be free.
And I finally bought a new computer. I'm picking it up tomorrow. I'm excited, but at the same time not, because I don't enjoy setting up computers. I suppose that will only be a day (or an evening, if all goes well), so I should try to look beyond the boring, less fun part.
