Do you know what I find extraordinary? Reading those lists of "things you can do to go green at home", they always include "turn off the tap while you're cleaning your teeth". Do people really not do that? I grew up on a farm that relied on rain-water tanks, so the idea of not turning off a tap is completely alien to me. Anyway, today is apparently Blog Action Day, wherein bloggers of the world unite to save the planet. So... like, you know, turn off a light today. There: I've done my bit.
Do you know what I like? Peeling unwashed potatoes. There's something about slicing off the dirt to find clean flesh underneath that pleases me very much.
Do you know what I don't like? Coming home to a letter explaining that my street's electricity will be turned off from nine tomorrow morning till two in the afternoon for maintenance reasons, when tomorrow is my day off. Ah well, I suppose I'll get some exam revision done without the lure of the internet to distract me.
