Today a productivity newsletter I get recommended a free e-book about the role of service providers by a man named Tom Peters. It sounded interesting, but I had to give up reading after only a couple of pages. I couldn't stomach 117 pages of this:
EXCELLENCE. Sometimes, I almost think I invented the word, along with Bob Waterman, back in 1982, when we penned In Search of Excellence. It became soooooooo much of a Hula Hoop that I shied away from the word “excellence” (understatement!) for almost 20 years.
Frankly, Tom, I think you're still a long way from it.
