thunderbolt autopsy
Mar. 10th, 2018 08:29 pmOn Thursday, a week after my second interview, I emailed the recruiter with a quick "thanks for interviewing me last week, how's the decision going?". He replied almost straight away that delays had come up and they would be making their decision next week. Which means Tuesday at the earliest, as Monday is a public holiday. So I'm glad I emailed. I can give myself the weekend off worrying about it. (It's a small organisation that has recently gone through some big changes, and I get a distinct sense of chaos about it. It is a little bit tempting to email back and say that this is why they need me. Let me fix it for them.)
I woke up about two o'clock this morning holding the little ceramic piggy bank that usually sits on my bedside table. Unexpected. I leant over to put it back where it belongs and rolled over a hard box: my alarm clock had also found its way into the bed. Sleeping me had obviously been busy.
I've been painting this week. Painting the bedroom window frames, ready to have the plantation shutters installed. One last coat to go. That will be my holiday Monday project.
