Imagine you're out somewhere and need to leave a note. 'Hang on,' you say to your friends. 'Just let me grab a pen and jot it down on my post-it watch.' Wouldn't that be classy?
I normally have a glass of milk, a slice of toast and a piece of fruit for breakfast, but I have been trying to get into the habit of having a smoothie instead. I found a page of recipes for them and have been experimenting all week. I started with the banana, honey and peanut butter smoothie, which was okay. It used up the last of my ancient jar of peanut butter, so that was good, but I wouldn't want one every day. I don't like peanut butter that much. Yesterday I tried an orange, blueberry and raspberry smoothie, which was, again, okay. Juice with milk, basically. Also, it used up some frozen blueberries and raspberries that have been lurking in the back of the freezer for a while.
Then I ran out of recipes that use ingredients I had to hand, so for today's mango, lime, coconut water and cayenne smoothie, I had to purchase a mango, a lime and a bottle of coconut water. It didn't have any dairy in it, so it was really just juice. And that was nice, but not nice enough to compensate for having to faff about cutting up mangoes and getting out the processor early in the morning. Basically, this week has taught me that I'm not really a smoothie sort of person.
