Magic or Mirage?

My mother rang me at work today, but I was busy so she left a message. I rang back twenty minutes later. 'I'm in town for the day,' she said. 'I just wanted to know if I could eat those roast vegetables in your fridge for my lunch.'
Actually, I was going to add them to some pasta for my dinner, I told her. 'Oh.' There was a pause. 'You'd better buy something else on your way home.' So that was a bit of fun.
I bought myself some new manchester last week. A new pillow, even. My old pillow was so flattened by age and the new pillow is so enormously puffy, and now I can't sleep properly. Also, my mother bought me a new wallet for my birthday, and now I don't know where anything is. I had to open three compartments to find my driver's licence this morning. Minor irritations.
I'm doing some professional development on Thursday. Thankfully, we have finished those interpersonal communications modules we had to do last year. I did not enjoy finding out that I might be a Difficult Person. Hmph. This time round, I am doing Advanced Data Visualisation in Excel. I am going to learn about waterfalls, sparklines and slicers. And heat maps! This is much more my cup of tea.
What else? Oh, paperclip chandeliers are apparently a thing. How many boxes of paperclips do you think that would take?
Also, ever since I clicked on that link to the banana-shaped banana slicer, Amazon has been suggesting that I might like a strawberry-shaped strawberry slicer. Um... no.
