Three not-very-deep thoughts about DH

First, and on a completely unrelated note, the council has installed an anti-littering sign on the highway near my house that says "DON'T BE A TOSSER". Now I like a spot of word play as much as the next person, but I must say I'm a bit over the current trend for aggressive marketing.

And Deathly Hallows?

Thought #1
Hypothesis: Wizards lose the ability to come up with cool nicknames as they age.
Exhibit A. Sirius Black: from Padfoot to Snuffles.
Exhibit B. Remus Lupin: from Moony to Romulus. Foolproof alias, Remus!*
Proved?

Thought #2
I really don't care about the HP films. They're just, I don't know, illustrations to me. One of my two favourite bits**, though, is the polyjuice scene in CoS when the kid who plays Crabbe (or Goyle) gets his chance to play Harry Potter. So I'm really looking forward to having several polyjuice scenes in the DH film where Harry will be played by a succession of random strangers.

Thought #3
If Sirius ran away from home while he was still at Hogwarts, why was a letter written to him long after that in his old bedroom? Did his parents get his possessions when he was sent to Azkaban? Or did I read too quickly and miss an explanation?
